The Voice of Robert Heinlein

Webmistress' note: In mid-1996, I digitized sound clips from a tape I had of a television interview of Robert Heinlein, given to KMAM on April 17, 1980, which his hometown of Butler, Missouri had designated as "Heinlein Day." You can hear him speak in what is obviously a crowded and acoustically imperfect room, answering the questions of his interviewer (which are noted here in text form, where pertinent).

At the time I digitized the original wavs, I had no place to post them on the net, and so gave them to James Gifford, who remastered and posted them on his own Heinlein site server. All that has changed, and I am proud to be able to present the public with some of the original wavs, as well as some new, unheard sound clips. I hope that you enjoy them.

The sound files throughout this site are free, and you may download and post them to your own servers, if you wish. I request that there be no direct links to the sound files themselves, but rather that you either link to this whole page, or post the sound files on your own server, and do us the courtesy of providing us with credit for the digitizations and also a link to this website. Thank you, Lizbeth Ager.
