Story : Unicornuate Uterus |
My DH and I started TTC in October of 1996. I previously had been on the pill and switched to Depo Provera (never again!!). I have always had irregular periods since menarche. Throughout 1997, I took the pill to become regular. I have no histiry of any miscarriages that I know of. (My periods sometimes had 50 to 60 days between cycles). My dr immediately wanted to do a HSG but did not because my HMO wanted me to have the postcoital, endometrial biopsy, sperm count and lab work before proceeding to the HSG. I was able to start on Clomid in December 1997. In March, I finally had my HSG done. The results showed I had a unicornuate uterus with left ovary. I knew I had both ovaries because I had an US a couple years earlier. In April 1998, I was referred to an RE. April through September 1998 did clomid, injectables, and IUI's no success. I did one last IUI in December 1998 and it did not work. At that time, my RE, her nurse, my husband and I h! ad a conference to decide what to do next. On January 6, 1999 I had a diagnostic lap with GIFT. The lap confirmed my unicornuate uterus and right rudimentary horn. I did have both ovaries. The GIFT failed. I had a FET in February 1999 no pregnancy. In April 1999, I had a fresh IVF no pregnancy. After my last ivf, I was done. I went to my dr and was started back on the pill to get regulated in May 1999. I was on the pill for 3 months and told my DH, I would never be on BC ever again unless it was for regulation only. We tried timing BMS with EW but never got anywhere until January 22, 2000. I started having morning sickness the first week of February 2000. I finally took a pregnancy test on February 11, 2000 and lo and behold, it was POSITIVE!!!!!! I was estatic. My DH was scared. My baby started to lag behind on growth at 16 weeks (IUGR) and I had low amniotic fluid. At 20 weeks, I had an amnio and everything (all of the tests) turned out negative. We did find out we were having a girl. She was complete breech my whole pregnancy. Olivia "Darby" was born on Friday, October 13, 2000 at 2:27 PM. She weighed 5 lbs 10 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. I am so thankful for my little miracle baby. She was term and had no problems. I had her via c-section. My DH and I hope to add on to our family. She is just the greatest joy ever to happen to me.
