Putnam's version of Notebooks. . . which I purchased some years ago in the vain hope that it contained more than just the two "notebook" sections of Lazarus Long's aphorisms from Time Enough for Love. I was wrong about that, but the book is well worth possessing as a coffee table item, thanks to the loving way in which D. F. Vassallo illuminated many of the sayings.
