Take heart! Robert Heinlein lives in the discussions of his fans on the #heinlein channel in the Undernet. Heinleiners are constitutionally incapable of inane IRC chatter, as newcomers to #heinlein have found out, time and again. This is no idle braggadocio. Stop by and find out for yourself.
You'll find #heinlein in the Undernet, all day, every day. Regulars have an informal meeting time of 6 o'clock p.m., CST, though chances are that you'll find a gathering there at other times of the day.
Meet The Ops
What follows is a list of #heinlein channel operators (alphabetically, by nickname) and links to their home pages:
- angelo_ is our Brazilian Heinlein disciple (his biography of RAH is a gem of concision and a must-read). Angelo_ is also an SF writer, a translator, a programmer and a teacher.
- CplCaz Caz finally has his page up and running. Upon loading his page, two things become immediately obvious: #1 Caz is incredibly cute, (and so is Caz, Jr). #2 Like Door into Summer's Dan Davis, Caz is into fancy, electronic drafting tools.
- glaroon is a housewife, webmistress, EMT, professional student and lately a translator. She's also head honcho at #heinlein and can field questions about the channel.
- KAZVorpal Our Founder got #heinlein going many months ago, working hard to maintain the channel for fellow RAH fans. Check out his excellent page on #heinlein and don't forget to read his #heinlein FAQ. And don't forget to look at his HTML source code; he knows lots of tricks and uses them all.
- Mad_Sci is a young lab tech from the wind-scrubbed plains of Alberta. We are waiting for him to tell us whether or not he has his page up and running.
- Neko-chan Along with KAZ, Neko has been a strong supporter of #heinlein, but that's not her only forte. She's also a remarkably versatile writer and sempstress. For our perusal, she has a few chapters of her novel on-line, and a detailed guide to drafting clothing patterns. Not for the the very young or very prudish: Neko's erotic fiction page.
- PeterV is Neko-chan's husband, and, like his wife (come to think of it, like just about every other #heinlein regular), seems to be a real Renaissance Man. Have a look at what he does on canvas.
- podkayne (a.k.a. SandyinLA) is one of the sweetest souls on IRC, very good at making soap (in her kitchen),`space stuff' (at a company that contracts with NASA), and passionate about space exploration. She maintains a very attractive, informative page.
- Shadowalk is a NASA test engineer with a pronounced distaste for President Clinton's ethical standards (ugh.. .don't we all!). He has a passion for progressive rock and maintains a good archive of MIDI files.
- X doesn't say much, but he uses his hard, flat little head to keep #heinlein in order.
